The Love I Lost - Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes Featuring Teddy Pendergrass (1973)!

Here is a video of the Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes 1973 classic "The Love I Lost" featuring Teddy Pendergrass.  According to Billboard Magazine, "The Love I Lost" is considered the first "real" Disco song from an R&B artist.  The 1963 Beatles hit "I Want Hold Your Hand" is the first Disco song ever.     

Teddy Pendergrass, seductive American rhythm-and-blues singer of the 1970s who continued his recording career after he was paralyzed in a 1982 car accident, has died at the age of 59, media reports said on Thursday.

 

Chinese Man Throws Bicycle At Thieves On Scooter!

Two thieves on a motor-scooter flew by and snatched a woman's purse on a street in Wenzhou, China. Surveillance video shows a man riding a bicycle.  As he was passing by the front of a hotel near where the thievery happened, he stopped, calmly got off his bicycle, picked it up, and then threw it at the thieves. The bicycle hit them, they lost control, and crashed to the ground.

Don't you just love the old 1974 pop tune "Kung Fu Fighting" by Carl Douglas.

Here is the original video from the Ed Sullivan Show aired on December 14, 1969.  This was the first time The Jackson Five, featuring Michael Jackson, played on national TV.  They were the lead music act that night before the main gig, Diana Ross & The Supremes:

For all you youngsters out there in the U.S. born after 1975, the original Soul Train produced and hosted by Don Cornelius was the "syckest" and "doppest" music show on TV in the 70's and early 80's in the U.S.  All the white kids in America saw Dick Clark's American Bandstand on Saturday at 12 noon, while a hour earlier (at 11:00 AM) all the cool black, Latino, and white kids saw the latest dance moves on "Sooooul Train"......
