All you World Cup Football and Olympic buffs like me can't wait for the "Big Show" this year to start. There is less than 10 days before the start of the Beijing Olympics. For those that know their world sports history, went it comes to the Olympic Games their are only two events that matter. Everything else is fluff and made for TV ratings.
In the Winter Olympics, the fastest man to ski from the top of the mountain to the bottom (without killing himself) wins all the fame, glory, adulation, money, and the most important prize in all of Winter Olympic sports - The gold medal for the Men's Downhill Ski Race!
In the Summer Olympics, all eyes will be set on who can run the 100 meters in the fastest time and win the ultimate prize in the Olympics (winter or summer) - The gold medal in the Men's 100 Meter Race!
Ever since the ancient Greeks and their Olympics of antiquity; the ability to run fast was, is, and always will be the essence of sports. And this has not change throughout the years, decades, and centuries. The ability to run fast is the fundamental quality that is needed in practically every sport. More so than endurance or strength.
There is no sport or athletic event more important than the Olympic Men's 100 Meter Gold Medal Race!!! This event looks very basic, but it measures the ultimate capacity that a human being can endure at it's maximum performance.
The top three favorites to win this year's Men's 100 Meter Gold Medal at the Beijing Olympics in China are the Jamaicans Bolt and Powell and the American Gay.

Powell has broken the world-record in the 100 Meters twice and defeated the current world-record holder Bolt, his Jamaican teammate, last week. And he also defeated the American Gay last week as well in a different meet. Both of these events were pre-Olympics warm-up meets 2-weeks before Beijing.
Powell is the fastest human being that has ever existed on Earth!!!
