Perhaps one of the main reasons why Utah ski resorts is popular is because of the Olympics(http://akronnewsnow.com/lifestyle/travel/item/10168-utah-resorts-still-capitalizing-on-olympic-success ) but I think Utah's ski resorts such as Park City have the best snow to offer that's why skilled snowboarders like Shaun White chose it to perfect his skills.
