Vlogger Kutiman is is an Israeli multi-instrumentalist who mashes up obscure (but funky) video clips into musical hybrids that need to be seen as well as heard.
His video creation, ThruYou, features seven songs, all stitched together from user-generated videos. “The Mother of All Funk Chords” layers clips of a guitar teacher, two theremin players, and an 11-year-old trumpet player. “Just a Lady” teams up a singer, a synth player, a flutist, and a harpist with a banger of wind chimes. Kutiman links to the original clips, which are delightful. But the real virtuoso performance you’ll see here is Kutiman’s own.
