These outstanding pictures were uploaded by a "power blogger" hours before Peruvian TV celebrity chef Gaston and his American and local investment team opened La Mar's U.S. flagship Peruvian restaurant to the pubic in San Francisco on Sept 29, 2008.
La Mar is the first restaurant in the United States with full Peruvian Cebiche and Pisco bars. Gaston will expand the La Mar brand and open upscale restaurants in Manhattan, New York and Las Vegas, Nevada in 2009.
According to several restaurant, food & wine, gourmet journals magazines, and food blogsites; San Francisco's La Mar is the most talked about restaurant in the United States this year! Their "soft openings" in Sept. and opening month was so filled with 100s of rave reviews by foodies and cuisine power bloggers that La Mar became overnight the #1 reviewed restaurant (existing & new) in San Francisco on Yelp since Oct 1, 2008!
You now need up to 3 weeks advance notice for a dinner reservation for four on Friday and Saturday night!! But you can still dine and drink at their cebiche & Pisco bar.
As for the food? Well.......It is Spectacular!!!
